my crib

hello lovelies!

no more holidays 😦 but i had the greatest six weeks off beach hopping, going to festival one and just chilling.  every time when i ask you what you want to see on here i get requests to show you where i sleep, create, and live! my style has changed a lot over the years and definitely since my last room tour i would describe it know as flea-market hipster, plant lover, so enjoy! xx

Untitled design (1)

my sleeping station!

so this is my place for dozing, netflix watching and it’s used to hold folded washing. the doona is from IKEA and you’ve probably seen it on many tumblr-meme accounts. the pink linen pillowcase and mustard yellow cushion are from citta, which i totally adore.  i have a rose lemonade bottle with dried eucalyptus cause i love the smell, a stack of books and a mood board made up of printed out pictures and vintage stamps. i also have a volkswagen VW sign of my mum and dads very old kombi van which they sadly left in London during their travels.

Untitled design (3)

my desk.

this is where i do homework, study, write blog posts, and create things if i have the patience and will power! i like to keep it bare (i know it’s boring sorry), i have a lot of storage in and beside my desk. this makes it easier to pull out school books, laptop, and make a mess when i need to. i have a few things stuck on the wall – vintage film photographs, sex wax air freshener, some plants, a glass with my favorite pens and a little tray with business cards, aesop samples and my moleskine.  i also have close by on the wall my frankie magazine calendar keeping me on top of stuff!

Untitled design (2)

my favorite area!

this chair is my all time favorite thing i can call mine. it’s gorgeous and from shanghai in the 70’s! here i read, think and sit if it all gets to much. i have crystals, dried plants, hand wash, my film camera and tea in this area so it’s like my chill and unwind station.  i don’t use this area all the time, i tend to save it for special days, like if im feeling like i need to chill, when i get a bit overwhelmed or when i feel like listening to worship music (god time!).

Untitled design

my chest of drawers.

this groovy retro piece holds all my undies, t-shirts, shorts and normally all my beauty products but i hid them for the photo cause they ain’t that pretty. the mirror is from kmart and i decorated with plants, and little wonders like a tea cup that was my great nana’s with a beeswax candle inside! this is the first area i use in the morning so i try to keep it tidy so i can start the day with a little bit of sanity!

hey you, i hope you liked this xx frankie!

i pray for the people you meet, may you offer them kindness and receive it in return. may you come across people that widen your mind and make you think.

* quote by rupi kaur *

i’m wearing a vintage dress from the bread and butter letter and fake gucci heels from china town on ti rakau drive. flowers are from cartier for flowers in newmarket which is utterly gorgeous! and i got my hair did and now it looks sun-bleached blonde.

the holidays are fast finishing but i still have one very exciting thing coming up tomorrow! i’m going to festival one which is a christian music festival and all of my friends will be there and i haven’t seen most of them all holidays because we have all been busy! so i am super excited, i’m rarely never not excited to be honest though!

i got gifted these beautiful blooms from my mum’s friend alma who owns cartier for flowers. my mum used to work there so we popped in to say hello and came out with blooms! so blessed!

i can’t wait to create and shoot more things in 2018, i’m doing to hawaii in april and i cannot wait to go!

thanks for all the love and support, xxx frankie!

a lil prayer: i pray that your remember to care for yourself, show yourself the love you tirelessly show others.

an arty day out

hello lovelies! last week me and my brother ventured into the city to do some christmas shopping (which was very successful, and i’ve finished, yay!). it was a very long day, we went to lot’s of places  (queens street, britomart, vulcan lane, auckland art gallery, k-road) and used burger burger and $1 slushies as our fuel. because we went to the art gallery to visit the obliteration room i thought it would be fitting to include art from artists i love to accompany the photos from the day! all artists will be linked at the end! i hope your holidays have been ace so far! xxx Frankie!

Summery Things!

hello again lovelies!

summer is in full swing and i am super happy bout it! i went on a school camp for four days and it was very very hot. i got sunstroke and currently have tan lines in the shape of my sports bra, but it was pretty fun!

as it is now pool and beach season i thought i would share with you the bathers, clothes, beauty products, and accessories that i will be over using this summer! i have a newfound love affair with the bread and butter letter which is a vintage and nz made shop located on k-road.  in the space of a month i have picked up 3 things from there but you will have to wait till after christmas for the third as its a christmas present.

anywho, enjoy! oh and enjoy the weather too! xxx F

Untitled design (10)

pink and red stripy polo

how cute is this! its a vintage dunlop one which i nabbed from the bread and butter letter of course, my favorite vintage hotspot! i love how it’s a singlet so it’s not too hot and my shoulders can get some sun.

silver hoop earrings

i love the way hoop earrings look with my bob, not sure why i think it just looks cool! hoops are a great way to fancy up an outfit but if your planning on playing a spot of something sporty be careful cause there easy to get caught or pulled. ouch!

Untitled design (12)

straw hat

this hat is my school hat and i have taken it daily to school for the last to weeks because i sit in a very sunny spot while eating lunch, and i realised that it’s kinda cute, practical and comfy. but im not suggesting to take your school hat to the beach but getting or putting on a straw hat is a pretty good idea.

rose lemonade

probably the most aesthetically pleasing drink i have ever sipped on. and honestly it’s amazing and im not generally a rose scented or fragranced fan. good stuff.

Untitled design (17)

bikini

the top is from cotton on body last year, it’s a nice classic cut and navy as always goes with almost everything. and the bottoms believe it or not where five bucks from kmart, score! they are a little bit more risque compared to the swimwear i normally wear but their gingham and i’m not gonna look like i do now forever!

sun jellies bag

i talk about this bag all the damn time, sorry, but it’s my pride and joy. louis vuitton who? nah just kidding, but these are waterproof so if it drops in the pool (empty) it will be all good! cute and practical, win win!

Untitled design (13)

dotty spotty dress

i picked up this cute dress for 10 dollars at the factory markets, its vintage and was a little big so i chopped the sleeves and i now tie them in little bows which makes it look even cuter. long flowy singlet dresses are must haves for me for summer.

sunnies

i have never worn these out and i don’t think i have the confidence to. they were my mum’s when she was young and they look very cool. but wearing sunglasses is very important to protect your eyes and also prevent early eye wrinkles. yeah!

mandarin

citrus is too damn delicious! this might be an odd thing to add but summer and fresh fruit go hand in hand so chuck a mandarin in your bag on the way to the beach.

Untitled design (11)

fjallraven kanken backpack

although these pags are tiny you would be surprised at the amount of things i have managed to squeeze into mine, i use it as a school bag so plenty of books! these are also great for day adventuring, walking to a waterhole or a short bush walk.

book & notebook

if your planning on sitting out getting a tan you might as well expand your mind. i have to read while tanning other wise i get bored so i always have a book handy while away in whangamata.

Untitled design (9)

kini top

this is a new purchase from cotton on body. i like the quite sporty cut of this one and the girly cute contrast with the frilly sleeves! pop on some navy bottoms and away you go!

Untitled design (8)

scarf

i like tying these on my bag straps, around my neck or in my hair. a very chic accessory and make ya feel like your in a 60’s movie.

mario badescu green tea facial spray

this is the sh*t! everyone raves about it for a good reason. it’s refreshing and revitalising, i took it to camp and it was so nice to spritz some on after i had too much sun or got a bit hot.

aesop shower gel

a nice scented shower gel is nice for summer in my opinion cause i personally think its more cooling than a bar of soap. the eco store do a coconut one which is a great one for summer scent wise. this aesop one is geranium which i normally hate but as always aesop make is beautiful.

Untitled design (6)

one piece bathers

i got these at a very cheap price from glassons last summer and i think im the only person that likes them and i’m not sure why. it’s pretty pink has a straight neck and the straps tie into cute bows, what’s not to love? fashion aye.

strawberries

ahhhh i love that these beauties are back in season! i put them on my overnight oats, yogurt and just eat them by the punnet. i cannot wait to make our traditional strawberry cheesecake, christmas comfort food at it’s finest.

Untitled design (14)

cane basket

i got given this from my grandad filled with homegrown oranges which was very sweet. it’s now very useful for picnics and also quite on trend.

la croix in peach and pear

another aesthetically pleasing drink that tastes damn good! this one is lightly sparkling and lightly flavored, it’s a summer winner. perfect for a little beach afternoon picnic treat with a fwend.

avocados

what a lovely produce season summer is. avocados are perfect on and in almost everything. guacamole, salads, vogels, i could go on for a while… im sure everyone that is an avo lover has there own recipes to include these green things in.

Untitled design (16)

bucket hat

$10 sale sun protection is the best kinda sun protection. this has come on two tramps and a camp with me and i did’nt get burnt (on my face!) bucket hats in cutey prints for life!

Untitled design (7)

another spotty dotty dress

spots and singlet dresses seem to be a fav of mine! this is another pink vintage beauty from the bread and butter letter that i adore so very much. it’s kinda see through though which is a bit sad but pretty nonetheless.  looks cute with the hoops too.

Untitled design (18)

gorman bikini

on of my favorite brands is gorman although it’s a little over my price range when this one was on sale and was one of the only bikinis that actually fitted me well i splurged and nabbed it. atelier bingo who are the crafty duo behind the print produce some pretty groovy things!

if you got to here your a champ! xx

Hello lovelies! Three cheers for the long weekend aye!

I did so much and while I did it I took some photos! Saturday morning started with breakfast at Bambina on Ponsonby Road. I had oats with berries, yoghurt and pear, and oh my gosh it was great! I really love oats. Porridge with coconut is generally my everyday go to.  And I had a juice and read the new Australian Vogue, it was a good morning!

I went out for dinner during the week and I got to take my new pink plastic jelly bag out, it fits so much and is so cute – I got it from the fairy shop.

Around Ponsonby, there are some really cool houses, buildings, and this time cars! There was a pastel pink car and it was so cool!

Anyway, that was a weird little ramble, exams are coming up so I’ll try my hardest to keep creating cause I love doing it!  Anyway, thanks for reading!

A guide to San Francisco

Hello again! It’s been a while, hasn’t it!

This is my first ever collaboration with another blogger, two in fact! Romey and Cade from www.romeyetcade.com .www.romeyetcade.com They asked me some questions about Auckland and I asked them some about San Francisco. They also interviewed me about me, which is one of the newest posts on their website if you want to have a read!

Here is how they describe their blog: “Bonjour! We’re Romey and Cade, best friends who started a blog. Romey et Cade is a little French arrogance, a little English elegance, a tad of American cool, a lot of fun. The blog was established in 2016 on the principal of style. It’s to the point and totally chic. Enjoy. “

So here is their guide to the American city they call home, enjoy! xxx

buildings in auckland

douglas & bec three lamps2douglas & bec three lamps2 (1)

I’m on holiday! So more blog posts and a lot more fun and city exploring.

I live in Auckland and I spend a lot of time walking around central Auckland where the heritage buildings are amazing. Above are my favourite buildings that I have snapped on these adventures, that are always better with friends.

I love the colours, materials and stories behind buildings. If you are a building lover like myself, here is my guide to the buildings in Auckland.

  • For a mix of old and new, Britomart. Full of heritage buildings mixed with modern architecture. Filled with fairy lights and plants too. It has an awesome vibe.
  • For shops in cute buildings, Jervois Road and three lamps. Father Rabbit, Simon James Concept Store, Tessuti and Douglas and Bec are a few of my favourite shops that live in gorgeous heritage buildings.
  • For something a little different and some hidden jems, Vulcan Lane, O’Connell Street and all the other Queen Street side streets. There is a mix of cute and not so cute around Queen street but I think the side street buildings are lovely.
  • For some suburban cuteness, look no further than the long black heritage building that muck floral, jetsetbohemian, black box boutique and uno design reside in. It’s my favourite building. I even painted it for art.

Other places that deserve a mention are; Ponsonby Road,  The Viaduct, Auckland Museum and Art Gallery,  Three Lamps, Takapuna, the Mt Eden Market, New Market, and Orakei Basin Food Market.

I hope you enjoyed! If you have any more locations you love please let me know so I can visit them!

my new mood board & update

WALLIO1

hello again! long time no chit-chat aye!

I’m gonna start with a little update on the things I’ve been loving as of late! I have been so busy with school like everyone else in my age group so I can’t wait for them holidays!

R E A D I N G

The Tomorrow series by John Marsden. I’m on the sixth one which says that I am thoroughly enjoying this series. If you live in Ozzie or Kiwi land you will have a pretty good idea of the books I’m talking about!

L I S T E N I N G

I am loving the Rookie Podcast right now, it’s so good and so damn inspiring. Song wise I’m digging; the guardians of the galaxy soundtracks, Heard ‘Em say by Mr. Kanye West, Finesse (Hey Baby) by Flamingosis, Cool by Zac Villere, The Cool Kids by BVGER and Nana by Polo & pan. My Spotify is frankie..b so Y’all can see what I’m listening to!

 W A T C H I N G

Buzzfeed Unsolved… I’ve watched every single episode of all three series and of course the post-mortems.  I am very interested in crime and supernatural stories and if you are too give it a watch, it’s on YouTube!

WALLIO3

This monstrosity of an Inspiration wall was what I spent a good 75% of my weekend making. I went through about 20 BuzzFeed Unsolved episodes while cutting all these out. This is above my desk and is jammed packed with my favorite images from Tumblr and Pinterest.

I am really into plants, shadows, pinks, yellows, and organic looking things. I like to incorporate quotes, images, and illustrations. If I could insert Publisher files I totally would so you could pick the ones that you love and stick them all over your walls. I’ll work on it!
